Civil Marriage

Townhall Limone

A civil ceremony is the only legally recognized ceremony in Italy.
All marriage ceremonies must have a civil service performed beforehand, in order for the marriage to be legally recognized.
The Civil ceremony must take place at a town hall and not on private grounds, and requires a translator and one witness each, and only require you to be in Italy at least three days prior to your wedding.

This small resort offers two ceremony rooms. One is in a recently restored villa, which now houses the Town Hall. This ceremony room holds upto 10 people and offers excellent lake views from the grounds.

The second ceremony room is much larger and holds up to 40 people. The outside the room is a large balcony offering stunning views over Limone and the lake.

There is aswell the possibility of an outdoor wedding in the gardens of the town hall.

Limone is a characteristic village that nestles into the cliffs of the western side of the lake. Alive with atmosphere within it's narrow medieval streets, picturesque old port and lake front promenade. Limone is famous for it's lemon groves that are as much a part of the history of the village as they are a part of the modern architecture.

Castle of Malcesine

There are two ceremony rooms in the castle. One is suitable for small weddings of up to 15 people. This room is situated on the edge of the castle with fantastic views over Lake Garda.

The second room is larger and holds upto 70 people. This room is made of white stone and is in the tower. There is seating for 35, standing room for everyone else.

The castle is located at the top of a hill overlooking Malcesine and the waters of Lake Garda.
The castle is a medieval fortress that dominates the town.

The ceremony is performed in Italian with a translator.

There is a short uphill walk from the street to the castle.
This is a beautiful location for wedding pictures with breathtaking views all around.

We suggest a STRING TRIO (violin, double-bass and keyboard) during the ceremony in Castle Tower to be played before and after the ceremony.

After the ceremony why not have a boat excursion with a champagne toast on board !

Malcesine is famous for the Scaligeri castle perched on a cliff overhanging the lake. The castle is believed to have been built in 568 ad. A maze of narrow, winding streets leads down to the water's edge. The focal point of Malcesine is the pretty port.
Behind the town is Monte Baldo, which is the highest mountain in the Lake Garda area.
